Earth Day is this weekend and we wanted to gather a few free family events for you to enjoy. 🌱🌎🌻
1. LA Sanitation: Third annual Earth Day LA event
When: Saturday, April 21 from 10am - 2pm
Where: Highland Park
What: A festival setting with games, seeds to plant, exhibitors, free snack and beverages + more!
2. Pasadena Earth Day Event
When: Saturday, April 21 from 9am - 1pm
Where: Armory Center For the Arts
What: Workshops, demonstrations, live music, art + more!
3. South Gate: Earth Day Clean Up & Celebration
When: Saturday, April 21 from 8am - 12pm
Where: South Gate Park (4855 Tweedy Blvd)
What: Tree planting, litter clean up, exhibits, clothing drive, raffles + more!
4. Manhattan Beach: Beach Clean Up + Community Event
When: Saturday, April 21 from 9am - 12pm // Event: 2pm - 5pm
Where: Clean up: Manhattan Beach Pier // Event: Jocelyn Center
What: Spend the morning keeping the ocean clean, stick around for contests and a community
5. Redondo Beach: 8th Annual Earth Day Chalk Art Challenge
When: Saturday, April 21 from 10am - 2pm
Where: Redondo Beach Marina - Sea Wall
What: Art contest to commemorate Earth Day
6. West Covina: Earth Day Festival
When: Saturday, April 21 from 10am - 2pm
Where: Palmview Park
What: Arts & crafts, tree planting, information vendors, and paper shredding for residents.
7. Lynwood Earth Day Festival
When: Saturday, April 28 from 9am - 1pm
Where: Lynwood Civic Center
What: Live music, tree planting, science experiments, educational activities + more!
If you can't drive to any of these events, but want to make a difference for Earth Day try some of these ideas:
*Invite some friends over and take a walk around the neighborhood with bags + gloves and pick up some trash before it gets swept into the sewers
*Separate your trash and recycle everything that is recyclable
*Plan a clothing swap with your friends so you can save clothes from going to the dump. Once you guys swap clothes, donate the clothing that you guys don't want anymore to your local shelter or second hand store
