Los Angeles plans on planting 90,000 trees within the next two years with the Green New Deal. You can be a part of this green project by applying for up to 7 trees for your yard or neighborhood from City Plants. Business owners can apply for trees as well, so don't hesitate to ask if your business can qualify.
If your property qualifies, you can choose from more then two dozen different species and City Plants will send someone to evaluate the space where you want to plant your tree(s). Check out the City Plants website, they have descriptions of projected height and other characteristics for each species.
There are many benefits to having trees in your neighborhood: lots of shade, improved property value, cleaner air. Beautifying your streets can help you connect with your neighbors even lower the crime rate in your area.
